Rather than operating as a standard medical provider, Carelon focuses exclusively on behavioral wellness, managing mental health and substance use networks for major employers, government agencies, and regional carriers, such as Sutter Health (Carelon Behavioral Health, n.d.).1
Carelon does not require a referral for routine outpatient mental health at Wellmind. To get started, create your Wellmind account, and upload an image of the front and back of your Carelon card in the patient portal. We will contact Carelon on your behalf to obtain an estimate, so you are aware of your copay, coinsurance, or deductible.
