First Health
First Health is a national PPO network that offers provider flexibility, out-of-state portability, and discounted in-network rates. Because First Health is an NCQA-accredited network owned by Aetna rather than a standalone insurance plan, its coverage is built directly into many third-party insurance policies, offering vast behavioral health resources (First Health Network, n.d.).1
First Health does not require a referral for routine outpatient mental health at Wellmind. To get started, create your Wellmind account, and upload an image of the front and back of your First Health card in the patient portal. We will contact First Health on your behalf to obtain an estimate, so you are aware of your copay, co-insurance or deductible.
