Western Health Advantage (WHA) mental health coverage includes access to Optum Behavioral Health, combining a regional Northern California network with broader behavioral health resources. This gives members access to localized care alongside digital resources and specialist care (Western Health Advantage, n.d.).¹

Western Health Advantage does not require a referral for routine outpatient mental health at Wellmind. To get started, create your Wellmind account, and upload an image of the front and back of your WHA card in the patient portal. We will contact WHA on your behalf to obtain an estimate, so you are aware of your copay, coinsurance, or deductible.
