The most fundamental component to effective therapy is having a strong bond with your therapist. When we start therapy together, the first order of business will be establishing that type of bond. From there you will feel the support you need to start exploring the material you've come to therapy to heal.
I am passionate about providing trauma informed care and I often rely on my training in both EMDR and ACT. "Trauma informed" means we look at symptoms from the lens of "What happened to you?" rather than "What's wrong with you?" We speak judgement-free truth and we honor boundaries, because truth and boundaries create safe space for healing.
By building a strong therapeutic bond, collaborating in treatment, and avoiding blame and shame, we work together to gently challenge negative thought patterns and foster post traumatic healing. Being part of someone's healing process brings me immense joy and I'm grateful to take the journey with you.
