Therapy is a joint, collaborative process. In my experience, people begin to feel better when we unite in carefully exploring whatever the problem(s) may be. This takes time. If you are in a hurry or looking for a quick fix, I am probably not your person. I've spent over three decades researching, teaching and supporting psychological health, and one thing I am certain about is that deep, lasting change takes time. Many clients come with one pressing problem, and as we resolve that, other issues arise that merit attention.

I look to clients to set the pace and direction of our work together. I believe you know where you need to go, and my job is to help you get there. I have a wealth of tools that will be helpful in this journey. They are all "evidence-based practices" meaning their effectiveness has been thoroughly demonstrated through years of successful application.

Simple as it sounds, “feeling good” is always the goal. Everyone deserves that, and everyone has the potential to be calm, confident and comfortable with their life. I try to help people turn toward what is troubling in their lives with curiosity and compassion. Usually, that works, and usually these patterns can be gently re-formed into much happier ways of being. This takes focus, patience and at least a degree of compassion for yourself.
